Piher: News on Clamping tools for woodworking, metalworking and construction

Piher Attended the Launch of the Albaola Hull

The Thrill of Watching History Float

We had the privilege of witnessing a moment that seems to stop time: the launch of the San Juan whaling ship’s hull at the Albaola Basque Maritime Factory. As sponsors of the project, attending this event was not just fulfilling an institutional commitment, but seeing how years of manual labor, precision, and collective effort culminated in its touching of the water. Watching that imposing structure glide towards the sea reminded us why at PIHER we are passionate about supporting projects that keep the craft of traditional boatbuilding alive, where technique and heart go hand in hand.

Our connection with Albaola goes far beyond a logo on a panel. Throughout the hull assembly process, our tools were responsible for firmly holding each piece of oak, allowing the carpenters to work with the safety and precision that a project of this magnitude demands.

In every frame and every plank of the San Juan, there is a small part of our fastening technology; Knowing that our tools have helped shape a 16th-century replica is, for the entire PIHER team, a source of immeasurable pride.

Commitment to heritage and the future.

Our invitation to this event reinforces the strategic alliance we maintain with initiatives that value artisanal excellence. At PIHER, we believe that innovation is not at odds with tradition; on the contrary, supplying state-of-the-art tools to reconstruct the past is the best way to ensure that these crafts are not lost.

We want to thank the entire Albaola team for including us in this historic day.

We continue sailing together toward the next stages of this incredible journey!
